Evan Hardy Junior Girls Basketball

Ross Fraser Invitational Tournament 2024

On February 2nd and 3rd Evan Hardy will be hosting the Ross Fraser Junior Girls Basketball Tournament.

The tournament was established in 1993 by Ross Fraser because there was no junior girl’s tournament in the city and he felt one was needed.

Ross was a very popular coach during his time at Hardy and it was the wish of his players that the tournament to be named after him so that he would always be remembered for his many contributions to the Evan Hardy basketball program.

This year’s tournament features three teams from Saskatoon and five teams from around Saskatchewan.

The weekend will feature many tremendous players who will definitely make an impact on their school’s senior basketball teams in the years to come.

Gate Admission

• $15 tournament Pass
• Day Pass $10
• Students $3 per day
• Elem Free

Message From Ross Fraser

Tournament founder and basketball coach:

I was so very pleased to hear that the Junior Girls Basketball Tournament was being brought back this year after the Covid hiatus.

Congratulations to the Organizing Committee, and the School for all their efforts and hard work.

I would also like to welcome all the players, coaches, officials, parents and fans to this annual event.

Thirty or so years ago we were so pleased to be able to start this event. There were many people that were involved then, and so many more that were involved over subsequent years.

All of these folks should be remembered and thanked for their hard work keeping the tournament going.

I hope everyone enjoys this year's Invitational Tournament and remembers it for the competition, and for the fun they had.

I know that I certainly have many great memories of being involved with this tournament and Evan Hardy basketball.

2024 Principal's Welcome Message

Welcome to the Ross Fraser Invitational Junior Girls' Basketball Tournament.

Evan Hardy Collegiate staff and students are excited to continue the long-standing tradition of hosting this midseason girls' basketball action.

The event aims to bring together young female athletes from our community and surrounding area and provide them with an opportunity to showcase their talent, develop sportsmanship, and create lasting memories.

Special thanks to Mr. Mantyka, Ms. Sokul, Mr. Dawe, Ms. Ford, and Mr. Johnson who are the brains behind this incredible event.

Without their dedication and commitment this tournament would not have been possible.

We also appreciate the student and staff volunteers who freely give their time to help run a quality event.

Thanks to the community and local businesses for their role in supporting this excellent tournament.

In closing, I wish the players and their coaches all the best as they combine great sportsmanship with strong athleticism.

To the fans, please enjoy the talent that is exhibited on the basketball court ...cheer loudly!!! Enjoy your stay here at Evan Hardy.
